The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha through his Chief press Secretary Sam Onwuemeodo has denied the claims by some people that lives were lost during the demolition of the said marked on Saturday 26 August.
“These people who have refused or failed to appreciate the good of relocating Ekeukwu market Owerri to a more acceptable area have been dishing out rumors upon rumors including rumors of people being shot dead. These are wicked rumors.
“The truth is that the Market is government’s Property and it is the decision of the government to relocate it to a better place and such action could not have led to such incident.
“The Security Personnel around the market were there to ensure peace and they played that role professionally.
Well that's from the governor, now if any body who believes that lives were lost during the demolition of Ekeukwu market, with prove, you can help sue the government of Imo state, by calling those who lost their relatives as evidence, because if you let them do everything on their own, they might not have the finance to go about it, this is not a platform for hate speeches on the governor, may be because he is not from your own political party, just try and be civilized, see let me make this clear to all of you, preaching negativity against the governor graphic photos on blogs and websites is not an evidence, if you believe in your point send the names of the affected families to news agencies and also their phone numbers. If by the end of all these no body came out with full identity that he is a bereaved, then the governor's side of the story carries the day.
