Hobobo, a native of Agbere town in Sagbama Local Government Area of the
state, was reportedly stabbed to death by unknown assassins in his
residence on PDP Road, Yenagoa, the state capital in the early hours of Wednesday, May 17th.
Spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said Hobobo was found dead in his house at about 7 a.m.
A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ekeki Division, converged at the crime scene after they were informed by family and friends of the deceased, and proceeded to remove his corpse to the consternation of sympathizers.
So far, no reason has been adduced for the heinous crime, as shocked family members described Christopher Hobobo as an easy going man.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Amba Asuquo, assured the family members that his men would leave no stone unturned in fishing out the perpetrators of the crime.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that he was stabbed on the chest with a sharp object. His corpse has been deposited at FMC Yenagoa for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing," Butswat saidEyewitnesses report that his gate was forced open by the assailants who met him in the sitting room where they allegedly stabbed him several times in the chest.
