The Nigerian Army mount a blockade on the Niger Bridge in Onitsha.

The so called "operation python dance" launched recently by the army in the south east to provide security in the zone have given room to a blockade on the Nation's famous Niger bridge in Onitsha.

According to daily sun the operation have caused panic among residents in the area.

Many Nigerians have condemned the act by the army saying it is not in any way justifiable.

The chairman of international society for civil liberties and the Rule of Law, Emeka Umeagbalasi described the army's action as a decleration of Jihad against the Igbos.

He called on the federal government to come to the aid of the zone and immediately dismantle the road blocks. Also he said the army internal security, should not translate to a psychological war against the Igbos.
