The protesters where chanting against corruption. According to premium times the protesters were demanding that for such crimes as stealing of public funds all guilty people should be sentenced to death.
They also called for a slash in salaries of political office holders by about 70%.
Also the protesters were asking the federal government to stop the joint account of state and local governments.The also demand the disclosure of details of National Assembly 's multi-billion naira budjet.
The protesters were members of a group called "Occupy Unlimited" which is a civil society group that advocates good governance and a corruption free society.
